There is a sandy public beach on Male Island, but the water is quite flat there and there are no facilities on these beaches.
Walkingtime to this beach is about 20-25 minutes one way from the place where the tender-boats will dock in town. There were just a few local kids and some of our passangers on this beach and there is also NO baywatch-team !
Equipment: Bring your own bathing-gear, waterbottle etc., as you will not find any kiosk or beach-bar there.

I would highly recommend getting some information on the past year's weather before paying for tickets and planning a trip to the Maldives. The diving can be great, but due to the shallow waters of the atolls and the tropical sun, after strong summers the corals can be bleached and even killed by a strong summer's sun.
