me, my sister, and hot euro boys yihaw! by willy_wonka, 2 more photos the maldives, being a muslim country, does not provide much for the partygoer. it's not like you can go into the city and find a club to party at. and most resorts, catering towards the loved up honeymooner, dont really have anything too hardcore either. but club med was great, in that the staff were all young europeans, who wanted to party. which was awesome for us, because we wanted to party too! on christmas eve the dj bought out his decks, and we had a 'nightclub' on the boardwalk over the water. people from neighboring islands came along too. it was so much fun dancing into the night, barefoot on the sands, mingling with people from around the world. if you are looking for a nightclub type of place, but are staying on another island that does not provide, perhaps contact club med and see what they have on offer. often times they will just throw an impromptu party if there are enough young ones (or young at heart!) staying at the resort. perhaps you can water taxi it and party the night away?

This just about sums up the pace of the Maldives. Which is fine by me. Stick a couple of beers on your favourite crab. My tip is, bigger, in this case, is not always better. Wait in anticipation as Number 2 scuttles in, earning you a cheap night on the tiles. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Check out the beach front for the fastest movers.

by Lucy- There generally is no night life in the Maldives. The bar is about it, but that was fine by us. If you are wanting wild parties then the Maldives is deffinately not for you! Whilst on the Atol Explorer we did have a BBQ on the beach of an uninhabited island one night which was excellent. There were also loads of tame rabbits running wild on this island! Rather bizar!
The dress code on most of the islands is casual. You dont even have to wear shoes if you dont want! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Dinner at the beach by Myndo Once in our holidays I wanted to have a special evening, so I reserved a romantic dinner at the beach especially for the two of us. It is easily done, just ask at the reception or your waiter and tell them when you want to have it (at least 24 hours before). I had the possibilty to choose from three versions: - The cheapest one would be a selection from the evening buffet that is served to you. - Second possibility is the lobster dinner, where you have the cook for yourself preparing you the lobster on a grill on the beach. - Third possibility is also with lobster, but a different menue, slightly less pricey. They prepare you a table right at the beach complete with flowers, candles and torches, which looks sooo good. It was a great experience, eating under the sky with so many stars you never see at home.

Not that I'm complaining, but basically there is no or little nightlife in the Maldives! You may get karaoke at your resort and a live band on another night, but that's about it! Most people sleep quite early as the days can be busy if you dive/snorkel a lot. The karaoke is worth a look in just to see the videos they play for the music, kind of like a far east porn flick with out the porn!?!

Heron silhouette by FletteMette You don't travel to the Maldives looking for excellent nightlife - the possibilities are fairly limited on most islands! "Our" island, Kuramathi, is quite big - and there are three resorts on Kuramathi island (the "one island - one resort" policy is the norm in the Maldives), and therefore also a larger number of restaurants and bars. The "busiest" nightlife spots were in the Village - the largest resort on the island, and also the most budget friendly of the three resorts - you will, however, notice that prices for drinks and food are the same (or very similar) all over the island. Most of the Village guests are on an All Inclusive package, and "have" to eat / drink in the Village unless they want to pay extra, so the bars and restaurants here were a bit busier than elsewhere on the island. "Theme nights" are arranged in various locations on the island, and on some nights there's live music - or, apparently, karaoke. (Which we stayed far, far away from!;o) The different bars on the island are very pleasant, drinks and cocktails are ok-ish (but not exactly the best I've ever had!) - but don't expect to be dancing on the tables, it was all fairly laid-back and quiet. Sunset cocktail at the beach by Myndo Yes, the Maldives are a muslimic country and as such they do not drink alcohol - nor are you allowed to bring alcohol with you, when you enter. If you do and they catch you, they will at least take it away from you (I saw that happen). On the island itself that is not a theme. You can drink as much alcohol as you like - from the cocktails they offer. But alcohol is quite pricey here. Good that they have happy hours where you can get 2 of the cocktails of the day to the price of one. Good also that, while you sip at it, you can sit at the pool and the beach and watch the sunset. What I did not find so good was that they did not offer a non-alcoholic cocktail version of the day, for people like me (yes, I do drink alcohol, but not when I am pregnant). So my dear hubby "had" to drink both ...
Casual, if you are in the bar you have to wear trousers and shirt, not only bath gear. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and Drinking

a shark by call_me_rhia There is very little nightlife on Bathala... the most exciting moment after nightfall is at 7 o'clock sharp on the north pier. A man from Bangladesh takes out all the daily fish leftover fo feed the sharks. There are normally five or six grey sharks and a white-fin shark that come regularly to the pier to be fed, as well as two large blotched fantail rays and hundreds of jackfish. Fun to say, but the quickest to get the food are the jackfish, while the mighty shark appear particularly clumsy and slow.

Not too much goes on in the resorts at night. You could settle for the fashion show, the Disco, or the nightly movie. And you could also forget all that and go for a romantic stroll along the beach and enjoys nature's beauty. You did not travel half way around the world to the garden paradise of the universe to see what is going on in the bar with people you don't know. Get out there and walk the turquoise sea turn to a crimson red and then fade to black as the greatest star show in the world is about to begin. Ok, take a few beers from the mini bar with you.... Come on, most of us are not flying zillion miles for the nightlife in the Maldives! We are there for the sea life! However for those few who can't resist the temptation to getting groovy on the dance floor, most resorts usually have live bands & discos and sometimes they have Theme night! So go boogy! :) Leave a Comment Theme: Other
