Any of the bars on your Island (at Meeru there are 3).Well they're all in nice locations, (near the beaches), they all have sand floors (you can go anywhere on Meeru without shoes, all 'public' buildings have sand floors), they all serve basically the same drinks and they're all just totally relaxed! On Meeru, virtually anything!
Not much choice here... On wednesday there is a band coming from Malé, which plays old favourites until 1am. (see photo)On Saturdays there is a Disco until 2am. Music varies but around 1am it plays some techno, already seen and heard but nevertheless it makes a change from the classical Abba songs... Men - shorts, t-shirt or shirt, no need for shoes. Women - Please don't bring your high heels like some women I've seen... it only looks ridiculous specially in a resort where every floor surface is sand... Other types of sandals or flip flops are a better choice. Dresswise, anyway you like basically, except bikinis. I would recomend cotton dresses or sarongs which are cool in such tropical climate.
Whatever the resorts decide to provide. Or, read a good book and sit out under the stars. Sunset watching is very relaxing, as you sit in the bar of your resort and drink a cold whatever. Quiet, comfortable, hassle-free and Picturesque. Very informal but nudity is frowned upon.
Fish feeding !!! every night after the dinner the resort staff was going for feeding fishes just besides the dock ... it's really impressive ! really tons of fishes: sharks, sting rays, small colored, triggerfishes & so on ...
No nightlife, but very beautyful evenings. This is the only nightlife on Maldives!Leider, oder gottseidank, gibt es hier kein Nachtleben, aber ein Sonnenuntergang ist schöner, las der andere. Da es auch nachts zwischen 24 und 30° Celsius hat, genügt sowohl für Frauen, als auch Männer abends eine kurze Hose oder eine Short und ein T-Shirt. Frauen können die gleiche Bekleidung tragen, oder höchstens ein Strandkleid und eine Bluse. Auf Luxus-Inseln, wie Cocoa (derzeit wegen Renovierung geschlossen) ist allerdings schon einfachere Abendkleidung erwünscht. Since it also has between 24 and 30° Celsius at night, suffices as well as for women, as in the evening also men a pair of short pants or a Short and a T-Shirt. Women can carry the same clothing, or at most a sundress and a blouse. On luxury-islands, as Cocoa (at present because of renovation closed) is already desired simpler...
