Trends: The Garden Restaurant

by thelittlevoice

I had quite a trouble getting something to eat for a lunch on Friday as most places open late. This was the only place I could find that day. This restaurant is in Nasandhura Palace Hotel. They offer many kinds of food and the price is very reasonable...For example, spaghetti meat sauce costs 50 Rufiyaa.

Candle Light dinner by sea: Romantic sea food dinner

by shawncastellino

Each resort would offer candle light dinners with a romantic setting by sea, or in the middle of the sea having various set menus, these dinners dont come cheap they start at about $125 per person and reach about $450 per person depending on the type of menu, the location and choice of alcohol

Main Restraunt: The Main Restraunt

by shawncastellino

We were on a full board basis and all 3 meals were taken in this restraunt, the buffets for all three meals had a good variety, there were chinese, continental, local and Indian options. Water was not included in the FB option, it was rather pricey at $3.5 per bottle, you can keep the remaining water on your table and use it in your next meal, pls note that you are reserved the same table number for your entire stay.

Movenpick: Ice-cream and wi-fi

by Restless-in-kl

Love this ice-cream cafe. Cool architecture, comfy interiors and wonderful ice-cream. Best of all, free wi-fi. So if you can't afford the airport hotel, stay put here, have ice-cream all day and surf the net :-) Ice-cream and more ice-cream!

Wonderful dinners!!

by Kisu

As the island is All Inclusive, all the meals are buffets and iclusive to the price. No matter what time of the day we ate, the food was always sooooo good. For the dinner and lunch , buffet included dishes from all over the world and you could choose from meat, chicken, vegetarian, pasta, pizza, indian , mexican or what ever you wanted. As the island is very small, so dinner, lunch and breakfast are all served in the same restaurant (the only one that they have on the island). Chefs are very helpful, so anything you ask is possible.

As with most islands in the...

As with most islands in the Maldives you are limited to how many restaurants there are on your island..On Meeru there was one main restaurant which served all international cuisine..could not fault the meals..we also ate at the Asian Wok..and the Dhoni bar (behind pool in photo)..both excellentAtmosphere in the restaurants was laid back..hardly anyone really dressed up at night...you kept the same waiter all week..breakfast and dinner were both spread over a period of 2 hours..you kept your own table all week so there was no one waiting for your seat..all restaurants and bars had thatched roofs and no glass in the windows!!!! Plenty of fresh fish, plenty of starters and local dishes also several meat courses each night..theme nights (Italian and Maldivian) always a choice of 5 or 6 sweets..mmmmmmm..something for everyone..

Yumm....!!!

by Mara_2

The restaurant is a buffet serving either internation and local food. The food is tasty and various, but always fish is available.Once a week a beach dinner is organized and table are placed directly on the beach with food buffet arranged on a decorated dhoni that has been took onshore. Very romantic! Excellent choise of sweets!

Helengeli restaurant: Helengeli restaurant

by Myndo

I have to admit I was a little weary when booking a 2 week holidays on the same (small) island, that only has one restaurant. They do offer buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once a week they make a barbeque for all on the beach, and at another time they do serve from a (small) menue list.I am not a big fan of buffet - it tends to get boring after a short time, especially when the dishes are being repeated. Not so on Helengeli. They make a big effort to have all kinds of variations.Yes, there is always the reef fish (or tuna), and yes, you can also have pasta prepared for you with every meal - but it was always a different sauce to these and the rest of the dishes changed every time.Things were super fresh and very well prepared.Since we did not do much else that lie on the beach, go snorkeling and have the odd excursion during these 2 weeks - is it a wonder, that I gained about 7 kg?...

Dhoni Bar: My ideal lounge beach club

by Islandcat

This bar is the ultmate hide out on Meeru Island. With great benches with soft cushions, nice chill out loungy music, great alcoholic and non-alcoholic exotic drinks, lovely snacks/fingerfood, and the most extraordinary view on the ultrablue sea and the waves near the reef. Enjoy the waving of the coconut palm and the screems of the bats. It's just too good to be true!
