The only thing i love to chill down in this cafe is to view the sunset and after dark, the million stars around you with cool sea breeze and nice mug of creamy foam of hot Milo. Cost around 8 Rufiyaa. The Cafe offer a variety of local/western menu. Have not try and food but just love the Milo. Will try the food 1 fine dayOpen from 8pm till late 1am. But you could come early just to watch the sunset. Hot foamy Milo . Ask not to sweet on the drink. Can be very sweet..!!

Food/Restaurants in Maldive's Resorts

by Sheila.

Each hotel has a main restaurant and some other where u can get paying an extra charge.Resorts always offer a wide selection of culinary choices, depending on the places - be it Thai, Mediterranean, Continental, Asian, Italian cuisine...Depending on the islands, main restaurants can offer menu or buffet, you have to ask your travel agency.During the day you can get light snacks and refreshments. I recommend you to take half or full board, because in the maldives food is very expensive, due to the fact that they have to inport all.Traditional meal in the Maldives consists of rice and garudhiya (fish soup), with fish, chilli, lemon and onion. Curries are also used instead of garudhiya. Fish paste known as rihaakuru is also a fine side dish. Alternately, roshi (chapati) and mas huni (made of grated coconut, fish, lemon and onions) are a popular dish. Fried yams are also widely eaten. Sweet...

THE BEACH: PARADISE FOR 2

by DAO

In almost every resort thay offer a romantic dinner - at a price. Expect to pay $175 for your table and if you want Champagne - that will be $275 thank you! This was in White Sands and you are on the main beach. It's your choice. Does look nice though..... Lobster of course!

Hakuraa Restaurant: Fab Food

by Andreaflem

There are 3 places to eat at Hakura 1. The Beach - you can arrange for a meal on the beach very romantic a little expensive but worth it. Very nice food Lobster steak ect full waiter service. It was windy the night we had ours and the waiter must have tried a dozen times to light the candel on the table but it was too windy we said it was OK but he still kept trying.2. The coffee shop during the day coffee bar, on a night you can arrange a luxury meal again a little expensive but amazing food.3. The main restaurant, breakfast - cereals, fruit, all types of bread and danish's. Bacon and sausage( a bit unsure what type of meat these ere made from) eggs which ever way you want, waffles the list goes on.Lunch and dinner were similar apart from dinner having a theme - indian, chinese, italian etc each night. There was soup, salads, bread/ rolls rice dishes, fish dishes, chicken/ beef dishes,...

Marriyad Restaurant

by faridah

This is the only restaurant at the airport. expect to pay from $7 upwards. We had fried rice here $7 and fried noodles at $9.. taste wise, quite good. Most of the people waiting for their flight will be sitting here to watch the tv. You can just sit and watch tv without buying anything.

Fiha

by faridah

This is the restaurant you will be going to for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you are on full board. When you arrive for the first time, you will be assign to a table and you are expected to sit at the same place for every meal. The same waiter will be at your service. I find this a good idea, it makes the tipping easier. You can tip after every meal, at the end of every day, at the end of the trip on your last meal there or every other day. I suggest you give at the end of every day or every other day so that the waiter feels motivated and is not kept waiting... Minimum tip is $1 per meal... The waiter waiting at my table is Muzey. Seems shy at first but opens up when you start talking and ask about Maldives and life and work. The waiters can tell you much about the country... Food... well, not bad.. but can get very boring after a week especially breakfast as it tends to be the same...

Sea Breeze Cafe: Feed the Fish

by angn

This was a really nice place to eat, in fact we ate there most nights. One tip is to make sure you get there before 8.30pm otherwise all the tables outside are taken.Waiters are very efficient and friendly.Make sure you get some bread as this is what everyone feeds the fish with and you will definately see a reef shark.

Maaniya restaurant: Snake

by Conflictrealms

When at Sun Island, you'll be sure to see things on the menu you havnt seen before. This was the case when It came to snake. It was Snake Gourd with stuffing. I stuck it on my plate, and tucked in.After the first bite, I had to wash my mouth out in water...It was absoloutly disgusting. A few days later, snake was on the menu again. This time served with stew. I decided to pass, but hey, why not try yourself?

Italian Restaurant: Italian Food in the Maldives

by Conflictrealms

At the end of the main jetty, there was a lovely Italian restaurant. It is situated ontop of a reef, and there are many fish swimming around it waiting for the staff to feed them. The restaurant isnt all inclusive, so you will need tp pay out a bit. Expect to pay something between $30-$60 for a meal for 2 people. If you dont feel like eating at the restaurant, you can order a pizza direct to your room. The number is in all of the rooms, so just dial up and order! The pizza boy will then cycle to your room with the pizza on the back of his bike.

Maaniya Restaurant: The Buffet

by Conflictrealms

The Maaniya Restaurant on Sun Island was a gorgeous place. It is the main restaurant, and those with All Inclusive or Full Board will probably eat here. It is very clean, and open only for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner. The only bad thing about the restaurant is that it is very large, so you may find that your table will be situated quite a walk from the buffet stands The dishes served here ranged from curries to roast dinners. It included lots of seafood, pastas and salads. Being a muslim country, it served no pork. Though bacon was made from beef, aswell as sausages. The fruits availible were very fresh, and sliced only when you want it on your plate. There are many different types of bread and rolls, so there is always something for everyone. While the desserts are plentiful, mainly gateauxs and other cakes, you'll find that you wont have the room to try any, after your large meal!The...
