Thai Wok Restaurant: Thai Wok restaurant

by thelittlevoice

This is the only Thai restaurant in the city...well there're other restaurants that can prepare Thai food too but this is the only one that only makes Thai food. The owner is a Sri Lankan guy who got married with a Thai woman. This woman's sister is the one who supervises in the kitchen so the food tastes very Thai :) All is great!

The Seafood Restaurant

by philmayne

Meeru has its very own speciality seafood restaurant located on a yacht moored in the lagoon.Neither of us are particulary big seafood eaters so we didn't take advantage of this restaurant, but it certainly looked good lit up at night.

The Main Restaurant

by philmayne

We stayed half-board on Meeru which meant that our breakfasts and evening meals were paid for with the cost of the holiday. Both meals were self service buffet style and the food was varied and of a high standard.

Sunset Restaurant and Vilu Bar: All Inclusive - snack menus

by Beestie

We had the option of 3 restaurants for lunch on our all inclusive stay. The main Kaana Kotari restaurant I have mentioned previously, the Vilu Bar (Water Village) or the Sunset Restaurant (Island Village). As we ate in the Kaana Kotari for breakfast and evening meal we chose to alternate our lunches between the remaining two.I would highly recommend both for varying reasons. The surroundings of the Vilu Bar were second to none. Nothing more relaxing than being in the water village bar watching the world go by. One of the main waiters, Khan, was only happy when running around like a headless chicken - he hated the quiet times! The food was fine although service was rather slow - nothing to do with Khan I might add but the kitchens. The food at The Sunset Restaurant (also the a la carte for the evenings) was first class. Both venues offered the same menu but I have to say standards were far...

Kaana Kotari: Wonderful Staff

by Beestie

The main restaurant on the island village of White Sands.Food is fairly basic, you must remember that all food is imported. Lots of chicken and fish.It is the staff themselves that make this restaurant so special. The Headwaiter was so friendly, nothing too much trouble and endless patience with my youngest son - he even took us snorkeling on one of his afternoon breaks! The desserts were wonderful - the strawberry mousse and tiramasu being 2 of my favourites.

sangu restaurant: you will put on weight

by DOUGALSMUM

although there are various restaurants on kuredu to try the food at the sangu restaurant was so good i never went anywhere else. all meals are buffet style and the evening meals were themed ( mexican night, maldivian night etc) with different menus typical of the theme. There is a very good choice at all meal times and as well as the very good buffet there is a chefs station where they will cook things on the spot while you wait ( pancakes at breakfast being my favourites) i didnt have a real favourite as everything i had was very good ( and i am not usually easily pleased)

Dhoni Restaurant: Great for that filling snack

by wto

The Dhoni Restaurant, by the pool, was a great place for afternoon snacks for those on HB, with meals starting from $6. It's position by the Indian Ocean with powder white sand was a great place to relax. There was room to sit inside as the picture shows and further tables outside on a decked area. Some tables in the shade to avoid the hot sun. Simple answer...........Grilled Tiger Prawns at $12

The Hagern 1919 Club: Dinner on the water

by wto

Can't tell you about this I'm afraid, because the signs said "Closed due to inclement weather". The tides did have a bit of a swell on them, nothing exceptional but trying to eat on the deck of this floating restaurant would have had you swaying about a little. It is the 'rainy season', but it rained only one morning, before breakfast and a couple of times at night while we were there.I know it's not much of a tip, but I just wanted to let you know it was there and its position, as the photo shows. Serves grilled seafood when open.

Farivalhu Restaraunt: The Main Buffet Restaurant

by wto

We are the happy couple in the Farivalhu Restaurant which was the main place for meals, buffet style (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Half board, obviously does not include lunch but instead, gives the chance to dine in one of the other restaurants.A large circular restaurant with sand floor and high roof giving a spacious feeling and never crowded. The central buffet station, was repeated around the room. Attentive waiters looking after you to clear used crockery & serve drinks.Breakfast was the usual selection of fruit, cereals, Continental Breakfast selection & Full English Type selection. Plus do your own toast and any type of omelettes made to order by the chefs in no time at all.Lunch & Dinner were of a similar style. Starters of soup, salad followed by a choice of meat/fish/pasta (but with a changing theme) then a dessert selection of cakes, fruits. Half Board option did allow you to get...

Asian Wok: Away from the main restaurant

by wto

The Asian Wok restaurant is away from the central area at one end of the island. Inside is small with only about a dozen tables, but the plus here is that more tables are placed outside on the beach. The menu is different from the other restaurants, as its name suggests, but there are still items like beef sandwiches with salad & fries for $6 on the menu.If you decide to eat here at night, it's under a starry sky.
