THE WEATHER

by DAO

A lot of people want to know on VT, what the weather will be like. In fact many want to know this because of honeymoons. I would love for you to have a perfect weather and a perfect honeymoon, but let’s face it. This is the tropics. It does what it wants too. That means solid rain in the middle of the dry season one day and sunny days during the rainy. The Maldives is monsoon central. They do have a wet & dry season, based on the monsoons. The dry season is during the northeast monsoon and the wet season during the southwest monsoon. The dry season is from November to April. The wet season is May to October, when prices go down. For all this talk of monsoons, it does not get very heavy rainfall experienced by some of its nearby neighbours. Because the Equator runs through it, the temperature varies very little between an average daily maximum of 30.4 degrees Celsius (86.7F) and the...

A Walk on the sandspit

by Russ60

At one end of Kureu past the Water Villas is a long narrow spit of land (sand) at certain times of the day you can walk out a long way and gaze back at the Island. This area is quite popular around sunset.

Get Married

by Russ60

Having travelled to many places around the world and witnessing some particularly tacky wedding ceremonies, I would have to say this looks like the place to get married. There is a beautiful beach tent adourned with flowers and palms for the ceremony.

A gentle stroll around Kuredu

by Russ60

Don't do this in the heat of afternoon sun!! A stroll around the Island of Kuredu will take 45-60 minsYou get to take a look at the accommodation throughout Kuredu and also walk on pristine white sand beaches.

Snorkeling

by Russ60

From the raised decking of our beach villa you would see dark shadows in the ocean this was my cue to put on the mask and fins and go snorkeling. The larger shadows were usually hawksbill turtles or stingrays.

Do whatever you can =)

by Kisu

You simply have nothing else but time here....Bath in the sun...go diving....snorkeling...kanoieng...island hopping. The island has free diving/snorkelling twice a day. Many people say that Male (the capital) isn't worth to visit, but I suggest you do that!!It's also a small island and few hours is enough to see it all...You'll get a free day tour to Male from Faru.

Watch an amazing sunset!

by tere1

I have been to a lot of different places in the world known for their beautiful sunsets but none of them compares with the sunset I saw in the Maldives!!! It's a truly amazing sunset!!The colous are incredible as you can see in my photos. So, alone or with you partner, sit on the beach or in your bungallow balcony , grab a drink ( tropical is even better...) and enjoy it. You will surely have some great moments you will never forget!

Scuba Diving

One of the best places in the World to suba dive are the Maldives. If you already have a Padi that's ok but if you don't never mind, you can still begin.I did the beginners scuba dive:Discover scuba diving Experience the thrill of diving under the close supervision of our PADI instructor. This 2-hour course consists of a theory briefing and one controlled ocean dive up to 12 metres (39 feet). Participants in this course must be over 10 years old.It was amazing. Other packages are available for advanced divers.

Treat yourself in the spa!

by tere1

One of the good things to do while in the Maldives is to have a massage or another body treatment in a spa.Treatments, like everything in the Maldives are expensive but well worth it. So relax, enjoy and forget everything! You're in Paradise, pamper yourself!

Snorkeling!

by tere1

The sea in the Maldives is so clear and there is so many varieties of colourful fishes that it's a pleasure to snorkel here. There are also many mantas and sometimes harmless baby sharks come near the shore. The resorts have snorkeling gear available for the guests, usally for free.
