This is the restaurant at the Juulchin Gobi Ger Camp by the Khongor Sand Dunes. We stayed for two nights at the camp and the food was OK but not as nice as on other camps we stayed at. For lunch on the first day we had salad, sweet corn soup, beef burger, pasta and fried potatoes. For dinner on the first day we had salad and spaghetti with cheese slice on top. Breakfast consisted of bread, jam, cold meat, coffee/tea and peach juice. For lunch on the second day we had more salad, Chinese vegetables with beef dumplings and for dinner on the second day we had yet more salad and some kind of minced flour based product mixed with mutton - kind of like a risotto.

This is the restaurant at the Gobi Tour Ger Camp near the Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag). The camp is very new and the restaurant building did so very good food. For lunch we had salad, small stew/soup, tender mutton, rice, mashed potato and vegetables. For dinner we had more salad, breaded beef, rice and vegetables served on two plates as you can see in the photos. All very posh given that you were in the middle of the Gobi Desert miles away from anywhere. We watched a short film about the American palaeontologists lead by Roy Chapman Andrews who came to the Flaming Cliffs, nearby, and found the world's first dinosaur eggs.
