One of my favourite restaurants in Kathmandu is Alice's Restaurant.
When the weather is good go to the top roof. You have a nice view over a part of the Thamel and when the weather is really clear you even can see Swayambhunath (The Monkey Temple).
In this restaurant it's also possible to send e-mails. they have about ten computers with an internet connection.
Favorite Dish: My absolute number one menu (well, it wasn't really a menu but you better say snack) were the vegetable pakora's (also called pakoda's). In India as well as Nepal I had this snack but these were one of the best.
