This temple is situated about 22KMs South of Kathmandu. The Goddess here is Siva's consort Kali or Durga. In this temple regular sacrifice of animals( He goat, Buffalo, Cock, etc) is done to to the goddess. Since, Nepal follows Hinduism in the original form ( many feel it is crude) sacrifice is common.
Many people offer animal sacrifice after their wish fulfilment. There is a great rush on Saturdays and on Tuesdays. The journey to Dakshin Kali takes about one and half hour by bus and your day will be made by the views of the beautiful Kathmandu countryside. Its worth visiting. There is no reason why should one get scared by seeing blood.

The Temple is dedicated to the ferocious mother goddess Kali (Shiva's consort) who has much energy an power. It is said thet she gives strong will power and energy to those who come to her and she loves sacrifices.
The Temple is tantric in nature and is a favourite worship place of the Hindus.
Tuesdays and saturdays are good days to visit as there is alwais a massive croword of worshippers who come from all parts of Nepal.
