This isn't exactly a warning as such... and certainly not a danger. Just wanted to point out a couple of things i found out while there.
1. If you are flying out of Lukla back to Kathmandu, you have to confirm your seats on the plane the afternoon before the flight or they give your seats to someone else waiting. It is easy to confirm the tickets as there are a few places that do it aswell as the airport... a lady who worked at the lodge i was staying at did it for me while i went out with my trekking guide and kicked his ass on the pool table!!!!
2. Lukla airport is cold... wrap up as you may be there for a long wait if its foggy. The planes wont fly if it is too foggy over the mountains... i had to wait about 4 hours for my flight until the fog lifted, so i was glad i had a book with me. If you are really unlucky, you may not get a flight at all if the weather is bad. I had arranged 2 days in Kathmandu after my trekking, just incase i had to wait a day for my flight back.
3. There was no food or drink available in the airport when i was there in february, but you can wander in and out of the airport freely even after you have checked in. There are a few teahouses serving food and drink right outside the airport gates. Just make sure you are back in time for the flight if you go for a hot drink somewhere.... there is no tannoy calling you to board!!!
4. Get there pretty early. There are always people there looking to get on a flight, and i believe the airlines are quite willing to hand out your seat on the plane if you are a late arrival. I suggest at least 2 hours before departure.
