Namche Bazar What to Pack

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Bring a torch!!!
I found it to be one of the more useful things in my bag while i was trekking round the Khumbu. The reason i have added it to this page is because while the torch normally came in handy at the teahouses i was staying at, in Namche... i needed it around the village after dark. In places there were lights on houses and lodges that lit up some of the path, but most parts were pitch black.
I went to use a satellite phone one night, which was in a lodge much lower down in Namche than the lodge i was in, near the centre of the village i guess.... thankfully, with my little maglite, it was much safer getting down to the phone and then back up the hill again afterwards... i was glad i had remembered it, because it would have taken me ages to grope all the way down the walls there and back..... oh, and i would have probably broken an ankle too... not much good on a trekking holiday!
