Samrat Restaurant: Smokers not allowed!!!

by mamtap

Samrat is very famous among local people for it's delicious food and clean atmosphere. In Nepal, most of the restaurant allowed Smoking but Samrat is different. The price is also reasonable. It is located in a busy place in Pokhara but when inside you'll get a peaceful environment. There are cabins for secretive peoples and an extra sitting place inside for people who want their own quiet area. My Favorite food is obviously is the Local Nepalese Food and the smoke free atmosphere.

Relimai Restaurant and Sekuwa Center: Hail Local Food!

by mamtap

This restaurant is situated at a very peaceful place. Got a big place to sit and eat plus the washroom is also clean. And the food they serve has variation. Price is reasonable and the staffs are very friendly. My FAV dish is Buff Sukuti and the drink is Local Wine (Rakshi). Nice place to relax and hang out with friends . View of the Fewa Lake from this restaurant is absolutely breath taking.

traditional and newari food is served in a traditional atmosphere .you have to seat on floor.you can also drink local wine ,but be careful because this local "wine" is a high alcoholic degree beverage.the dalbath is great.and the prices no more expensive. dal-bath

" Big Bellies Restaurant ": Tranquil setting in the Heart of Thamel !!

by into-thin-air

" Big Bellies Restaurant " is in a little courtyard off Thamel, Between Nirmal's Office ( Himalayan Magic Adventures ) and Thamel Chouk. This is quite a small restaurant but offers both inside and outside dining, an extensive menu, Very Reasonable prices and Excellent Food. The Kitchen is set at the back of the courtyard so you can see what the chefs are up to !! --and It is Clean !!Give it a try !!2006 -- Although I didn't eat in this restaurant time that I was in Nepal As far as I am aware, the information in this tip is still as good now as when I wrote it in 2004I was back here sever times in 2008 and am happy to say that the food is a good as ever, It is getting a bit popular now and my only gripe was that the manger tends to move people around to maximise his seating capacity – oh well, That’s business !!I again enjoyed several meals here on my 2010 trip and am pleased to report...

Yak Lodge - Restaurant: Tibetan family run Restaurant

by poledi

I visited this family run Tibetan restaurant for breakfasts. Breakfast are pretty big, tasty and inexpensive. Co-owner is a little shy but represents high standard level of customer service. Standard Nepali breakfast - eggs, toasts, jam or honey, roasted vegetables and tea or coffee.

The Bakery Cafe: Use your sign language skills!

by AlettaCrofton

Our tour guide and his wife invited us to the Bakery Cafe for coffee and local pancakes. This cafe employs only deaf waiters who make use of illustrated menus to serve customers. The waiters are friendly and efficient in spite of their disability. Freshly brewed coffee!

Rum Doodle: Popular with Hikers

by AlettaCrofton

Rum Doodle came highly recommended, but we were not impressed. The staff are cold and unfriendly and the food not that great. Mervyn had pork chops and mash potatoe. I had a lassi. The pork was not very tender.

Everest Steak House: Excellent Steaks

by Yeti145

Very good selection of steaks. Fair size menu, and everything is cooked to perfection. And amazingly enough..the waiters can be quite sour faced just like the rest of the reviews say. Dont know what the problem is with them, but it is still a good place to eat!

Pilgrims Feed 'n Read: Excellent place

by Yeti145

Great place to escape the madness of Thamel when it gets to be too chaotic. This is a vegetarian restaurant, but still a very good selection of food. Excellent atmosphere in the back lounge or outside in the back seating area.
