  • Rum Doodle

    4 out of 5 stars

    Kathmandu Restaurants

Rum Doodle is an institution, and the clientele are mountain high-fliers, post-trek trekking parties, guides, Everest climbers (they can eat here for free the rest of their lives!), local tourism business people, general visitors looking for a place with a name, and generally those going for good Thamelish food. Note that at the high season and...

  • The Third Eye

    4.5 out of 5 stars

    Kathmandu Restaurants

I had fantastic Indian food here, but they offer much more than that. I went to the rooftop and ordered a beer and dinner. The rooftop is really lovely, but so is the restaurant. Very reasonable prices for such good quality and service, and very clean bathrooms! I was very happy to see that, as I hadn't really seen a clean bathroom on this trip to...

    Nepal Restaurants

The food is western and terrific - normally hard to do due to the quality of the ingredients you get in Kathmandu. However it is done, this English team of cooks have done it. I loved my meal here. There's also a cool touristy thing you can do where you get a paper footprint, write a message on it, and stick it on the wall. There are already...

Quite good food, even though it was Western style. One of the things I do when travelling is avoiding the food I eat at home. Afterall, one of the reasons you travel, apart from experiencing different cultures and seeing different places, is to enjoy the local food. Still, worth a visit. I had Nepalese soup. Fantastic. Had the chicken house...

    Nepal Restaurants

If you want to try some Nepalese food, you can't go past the Katmandu Kitchen. For 500 Nepalese rupees (less than 7 USD) you get an eat all you can fixed menu. I think I went for thirds! Make the most of it, cause half way through your trek as you get higher, you're bound to lose your appetite. The food is quite basic but very tasty nevertheless....
