I suppose this tip would depend somewhat on where you are actually staying in Chitwan, as if you are in one of the villages where it is a bit noisy, i doubt you will hear as much.
I stayed at the Gaida wildlife camp which is really peaceful and quiet at night, so if you have an evening with not much to do, just sit and listen.
The sounds of the jungle are just so amazing at night.... you can hear the constant harmony of the insects all around the jungle almost creating a backing track for the louder calls of anything from alarming Deer being disturbed by the Tiger, to two fighting Rhino.
From time to time you can catch a few notes of the locals singing in the villages around the area, and even still the odd bus or bike horn miles off as people make there way back home for the night.
The stars are a perfect partner for the sounds too, and the moons reflection in the rivers looks beautiful! They both seem to shine so much brighter than at home!
So grab an Everest beer or a nice cup of coffee, pull up a chair or find a nice spot on the grass somewhere and just go for it. Be careful though, once you start you could be there all night!

The place I enjoyed mostly was the area and services staked out on the beach by Holy Pub. Not very distinct from the other places here at the Sauraha beach part, but I took a liking to the no-nonsense service and good people at this place. They could read you well and know when to end a friendly conversation.
Very funny drinks here, but as I am not really into cocktails and local whisky/brandy with weird things in it, stayed off the stuff. But for the more adventurous this is the place to get drunk on Rhinos's gall and what not (just the name, though). Occasionally I feel like having a stiff Bloody Marry, though! I had decent beer and various non-meat snacks here while watching the sunset three days in a row, while having dinner at the Fewa Wildlife Resort.

Sitting and taking farewell to the sinking sun over the Chitwan jungle and Rapti river over a glass of beer and snacks is the thing to do in a holiday mood in Sauraha part of Chitwan. So nice that it is worth getting here from the resorts around only for this.
Dress Code: Dress for the mosquitos and for the locals: keep a modest style and keep the biting insects out.

The local cultural club at Sauraha visits resorts on demand as well as organise performances at therir Sauraha main street Tharu Cultural Hall.
Well worth seeing, but I wonder where the women dancers are?
Dress Code: Informal, but long sleeves and pants do well against mosquitos.

While in Chitwan, take the time to sit outside at night, have a campfire and watch the stars. You may never be in so remote of a place again. The sounds of the jungle and the twinkling stars are enough to bring tears to your eyes.
