Rhinocerous chasing on elephant back at Chitwan National Park
It's an incredible thrill to be chasing rhinos while your elephant trainer uses calls to try and mimick their sounds. The highlight was seeing a baby rhino with his mom. So cute! Chitwan national park is fantastic for its diverse wildlife! A great experience!
Visit one of the national parks in Nepal! Chitwan Royal national park would be the most common. If you take an organised stay it will probably include canoeride and safaris both on foot and on elephant. I can confess that with all those rhinos around, I felt much safer on the elephant. Standing 10 metres away from a huge male rhino when our two guides only had a wooden stick for protection wasn't all that reassuring...
Jungle walk in Royal Chitwan National Park is an exciting activities. You can ride on the back of elephant and travel in the jungle. If you are lucky, you may find some wild animals. (picture : rhinos)
After the whitewater rafting part of the holiday we had a 50km trip by bus to the pickup point to the Royal Chitwan Game Reserve. This picture was taken in the parking area. Yes, that is cannabis but, very young.
Better than the elephant ride was a guided walk.
Get a real feel for the jungle and a good guide will find a lot for you to see. The guides really vary so ask around to see who's good. The best was when our guide heard some rhinos coming and had us climb a nearby tree to watch them emerge from the ten foot grass.
Wildlife in Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park is home to some rare animals - tigers and rhinos. I didn't see any tigers, but I had the pleasure of meeting 4 rhinos. A once in a lifetime-feeling that can not be described in words! The accomodation is spartan, but that just makes the experience more memorable. Go on elephant-safari or on an early morning jeep-safari, you've got lots of opportunities to see beautiful animals irrespective of which transportation you choose.
if you're in chitwan national park for the elephant safari, try to stop by at the elephant breeding centre.. they've a few very cute baby elephants there that you can feed and play with..
A half day walk in the Jungle was rewarded with a good look at a solitary male rhino. Quite impressive animals - built like tanks.
If you visit Chitwan, don't forget to ride the elephant , it's so funny and a happy experience to sight-seeing around the national park on the elephant back.
While at Chitwan, do an elephant ride to view the rhinos,
High vantage point to view over even higher grass!
