Spring colours in Nepal
3 more images

See the colours of nature in Nepal during springtime. During springtime between March to early May, the nature of Nepal is very colourful, with flowers and trees of many colours blooming. Very beautiful indeed !

Me and many flower.

During the first lower part of the trekking we walk trough small villages with very green gardens and many beautifull colored flowers. So I must stop sometimes for taking a nice piture of me and the flowers. ;-).

Transport in Nepal.

The peoples in Nepal have not all a own car. So the transport they do is by bus. there are no trains. The roads are very bad in the mountains. In the city's are a lot of taxi's and motors. But when the people would like to travel they take the bus. Most inside but very often on the roof of the bus.

The Annapurna Range.

During my three weeks trip in Nepal i had a 6 day's trekking in the Annapurna Range. A wonderful experience with great views over the mountains. We met nice and friendley peoples in the little villages. See a lot of suspension bridges and donkey caravans. Here a picture of the mountains.

Sunrise at Poon Hill

The trek to Poon Hill is relatively easy and takes 4 days return, 5 if you're as lazy as I am. The route takes you through rhododendron forrests and picturesque villages. And the absolutey highlight is the sunrise from Poon Hill which is 3210m. From there you have a spectacular view of the Daulaghiri and the Annapurna Himal.

Langtang is great to beat the crowds.

Of three treks, Langtang was my favorite. The teahouses are great and 90% have solar showers for a daily cleanup. The route is not a top tourist destination because the busride up is a rough going and littered with landslides. The locals were great and getting up in the middle of Langtang glaciers.

Annarpurna mountain range view from plane

You can see Annarpurna range from top. I saw Poonhill very clearly. My guide pointed to the viewing tower on Poonhill as well! I was so excited! Just imagine I was on Poonhill for sunrise days ago and now I viewing it from this plane!

Pony ride

We trekked to Kagbeni and decided to ride a pony back to Jomsom to begin a 'walk down' trek.(I'm not very healthy actually)

And pony ride was something that I would never forget in my life.I don't know if we were lucky or not but ponies we got were not really calm but naughty. One just sat in the cold river just like that..(and ofcourse you were on his back!) ..one didn't want to cross the bridge..Sometimes running fast like crazy..sometimes just stopped and didn't move for minutes..well,you have to try it yourself.Could be a ride from Kagbeni to Muktinath too if you like.

Barefoot Hindu pilgrim walks to Gosainkund lake.

Trekking is the best way to get to know Nepal, its mountains, rivers, people, birds and anymals, plants and trees. There are no roads in the mountains, so pack your rucksack, get your boots on and walk. Whereever you go it will be unforgettable experience of teh lifetime.
