Packing List

by pelentari13

this depends on the amount of time you are staying. i was only there for a month, so a travel pack was sufficient. make sure that it zips and opens on the top, this makes it easy to get to all of your clothes.i did however bring an extra duffle bag (which was the smartest thing i did) for all souviners. well, needless to say i looked like a complete tourist during the first couple of days (until i bought some local clothes). i was so worried about bringing dual function clothing, and in the end i wore the same four shirts and two pants. that's all you really need to bring. i also had taken a pair of sneakers (that i left on the trek) and was completely satisfied with my chako's! they were a god send!!! i love those sandals (but not the tan i got from them). no need to bring a medical kit. even when in india, there were pharmacies that providied medicaition. just make sure to get all...

TAKE A BIG SUITCASE BECAUSE WHAT YOU CAN BUY OVER THERE IS AMAZING YOU WILL COME BACK WITH TWICE AS MUCH LUGGAGE THAN WHAT YOU WENT WITH. TAKE WALKING SHOES eg SNEAKERS AND TAKE PLENTY OF SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS AND DON'T FORGET A RAINCOAT JUST A LIGHT ONE BECAUSE IT CAN SOMETIMES RAIN THERE. IT IS A VERY HOT AND HUMID PLACE SO DRESS ACCORDINGLY. DONT TAKE DRESSES THOUGH I DON'T THINK IT IS A DRESS OCCASION. TAKE YOUR NORMAL TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE AND PLENTY OF DEODERANT BELIEVE ME YOU'LL NEED IT. JUST A CAMERA WILL DO BUT MAKE SURE IT IS ONE THAT CAN TAKE REALLY GOOD PHOTOS AT NIGHT BECAUSE THAT IS WHEN YOU WOULD TAKE MOST OF THEM. NOT MUCH BEACH THERE LOTS OF BUILDINGS THOUGH

A backpack. I have a flowery Gap backpack, that is feminine but strong. It is warm or hot in Asia, so bring a lot of white shirts, light white shirts that don't mind the dust and the sweat. Crisp white shirts. And jeans. You can bring shorts but don't complain about mosquito bites. Bug spray and white flower liquid. your favourite tested and true digital or elfina.I perfer a Pentax A black tankini and a safari shirt to throw around you and tie at the waist.Oh yes, don't forget a pareo. I would bring my Paramount cap and my Harley Davidson cap in reddish orange. It is faded now.

The less the better. I took over 2 tops 1 pr of shorts and bathers and brought everything else. Its too cheap not too. If I ran out of clothes, Id buy them. Bargains galore! Bring a good pair of sandles that are sturdy and this can last you the whole trip. I lived in mine for 3 weeks with out any troble. Chemists are everywhere in Thailand. You can buy all your needs quite cheaply. Dont even worry about taking mozzie repelent, buy it there. Buying film and having your photos developed are really cheap over there too. They even put your photos in nice little albums! Bring your sleeping bag.Bring your bathers.Take some sunblock and wear safe shoes. A tent. In case you cant find any where to stay. Some owners of little places along the beach will let you stay on there premises, just be nice about it!

light weight.mostly summer wears for India.Even you can buy them cheap here. A pair of good shoes is a must. Be careful about the mosquitos.carry the best remedy for it,Otherwise ensure it from the hotel you stay. Don.t carry expensive and heavy on the equipments, Ensure that you have informed the authority about your camping in jungle. There are news of many forgieners vanishing in treks.Careful of people engaged in drug traficking while you are outdoors. Don't buy SEX.
