Last week, I went by bus to Gwadar, Baluchistan, Pakistan. It is 995 km away and the bus took about 12 hours.
The road, Mekran Coastal Highway is an asphalt road with two lanes. The traffic was thin and the bus could easily gain a speed of 110 km per hour. Some time was consumed in police-checks and stoppages for lunch and prayers.

I stayed at a hotel right on the beach, Gwadar Tourist Motel, Governor Rest House Road, Gwadar Telephone Nos 92-086-4210899, 0300-2857883, http://www.gwadartouristmotel.com/

I paid Rs.1,200 (US$ 15) per night. The breakfast and meals were Rs.80 (one dollar) and about Rs.160 (two dollars) respectively. For moving within the city, motor rickshaws were available for Rupees 40 to 50 per trip (around half dollar to 0.625).

Worth seeing places were a long beach with light green water, Hotel Pearl Continental at a hilltop, Ports and markets brimming with cheap Iranian & Chinese goods.
After stay for two days, I returned by a van leaving Gwadar at 9 am (the earliest public transport). I got down at Aghor and had a side trip of Hinglaj, about 15 km away in about five hours.
I have since uploaded my travel as http://hubpages.com/hub/Hinglaj-Yatra
At about 9pm I boarded a van and reached Karachi around midnight.

One can go by air to Gwadar (return fare Rs.11,200 or US$132) or by bus (fare ranging from Rs.700 (ordinary bus) to Rs.1,200(Luxury Bus, only 28 seats, fully air-conditioned and fast). All buses leave from Inter-City Bus Terminal, Yusuf Goth, Baldia Town, Karachi (9221-5413837-8, 0322-2319855, 0313-2266992). Departure time from the terminal is 8 pm. The return would also be at the same time. This means one would not be able to see the terrain especially of Hingol National Park http://www.hingol.com/
(For a day trip, one can have seat on a van for Rs.1,000 per head leaving at 9 am from various well-known places Kalari, Lee Market or Chakiwara of Karachi. )
