653 km long Makran Coastal Highway joins Karachi (via RCD Highway) to Gwadar. Ormara is about 400 km from Karachi, i.e. more than half way. Makran Coastal Highway is a fully metalled road (with some exceptional patches) and a pleasure to drive on. Apparently, there are no speed limits, long beaches run along the one side of the highway, and the other side is full of diversity; rocks, mountains, sand, etc. The only flip side is the absence of road side facilities (fuel, food, first-aid), hence adequate planning is a must.
