    Four again

    by l_joo Updated May 24, 2005

One of my favourite collections, this is a photo of all four of them, beautiful fours. Taking photos of girls in this country is not easy, you will find out later when you come here, so I won't miss the opportunity.

    Road to Naltar Valley

    by l_joo Updated May 24, 2005

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Driving to the Naltar Valley is driving in withing these rocks, no proper roads, all natural, a perfect place for nature lovers, don't come here with stupid luxury tourists, they will sure tell you to improve the roads, build a resort, 5 star hotels, etc and last turned the whole environment into shiit.

    Seven together

    by l_joo Updated May 24, 2005

Now quickly I take their photos, you don't get the chance this easy to take girls' photos in Pakistan, most peoples won't allow their girls to expose to camera. Look how happy they are, I am happy too.

The little girl went shouting for her parents to invite them for photos, only her father come out, her mother hide behind the wall, she was probably brainwashed that women should not expose to camera, the same like the one I met in Baltit Fort later.

    Dainyor

by aukjejetty Written Apr 30, 2003

Leave Gilgit on the road to the karakoram highway. After 10 Km (6miles) turn left to cross the Gilgit River to walk to the village of Dainyor. (The Gilgit Broadcasting Station is here) Ask the local people for the rock inscriptions giving the history of the Tibetan kings in the 7th century, they are on a rock inside a private compound.
It is a nice village away from Gilgit, quiet and friendly.

    Buddhism in Pakistan

by aukjejetty Updated Apr 29, 2003

A not too far distance from the town of Gilgit, is a Buddha carved into a stone face, a remnant of the era over seven hundred years ago when Buddhism held sway accross much of what is now the North-West-Frontier Province, the Northern Areas and Afghanistan. It is possible to walk here, it is about 8 km out of Gilgit. If you walk to the west, I can't tell you exactly, but try asking some locals. We were lucky and were taken there by a student who was home for summerholidays. He told us about it and took us all the way there, since it was close to his home.

Who else, who else wants to stand here for photos? The mother is still missing, she won't step in, eventhough the husband encouraged her.
