Dear all, please note that as much as any govt try to keep all happy, there are some others who are extremist and destroy each others relationship. Here in Gilgit, 3 main groups, majority is shia, then sunni and aga khan.Because of some sensitive issues, the shia and sunni are not in good terms which lead to several shoot out and some killings. So guys, if you happened to be in Gilgit, be sure to have close connection to your guide and ask for more information on how to keep safe in this area. Most shops belongs to sunni so whenever any shootings occured nearby, all the shops will b closed so suddenly and making it difficult to get any cab to go home. Sometimes the government imposed curfew as well and therefore make sure you aware of what to do in this situation ok...
