It is a famous picnic place for the people of Rawalpindi & Islamabad. I enjoyed visiting Lake View Point with my family. Atmosphere is cool relative to Rawalpindi. Kids enjoyed rides & we enjoyed walk on beautiful pathways & lush green lawns. Passenger bus ride to the lake was great. Both family & paddle boats were there for riding. Lake view is very beautiful.

Park covers a large area and encloses variety of recreation activities like:

Pathways for walking, Green Lawns for sitting by
    Passenger train & Electric Bus
    Ibex club, rock climbing gym
    Paintball battlefield
    Motor sports ranch
Fun Rides & games for children & adults
    Boating Area
Zoo of rare species of Birds

Rawal Lake is a very beautiful lake located in Islamabad Park Area. A dam was built on this lake accross Korang River in 1962 called Rawal Dam. It has a storage capacity of 47,500 acre feet and covers 3.5 square miles.

It is an ideal place for picnic, fishing and boating. There is a terraced garden on the lake side. The highest point in the garden offers a great view of the lake, Margalla and Murree hills.

Red Onion & PTDC restaurants give snack bar facility.

A large lake/dam made on the Kurang River is the main supply of water for Islamabad resident. It is also home of various varieties of birds and wildlife. You can also hire rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the lake upclose.

Not a good picture..but will do

Sun set at Rawal lake looks beautiful. The area round the lake has been planted with flowering trees. Many picnic spots have also been designed. There is a restaurant operated by PTDC that offers snacks. The lake covers an area of 8.8 sq.km. Sailing, boating and fishing facilities are available.
