Naran Things to Do

  • Naran-Full of Excitements!!!

by zudiya Written Jul 2, 2006

After Earthquake October 2005, tourism in the effected areas are definately less than before but now things are in better shape and one can travel via jeeps from Balakot to Naran, Jeeps are available from other side of river Kunhar coz the bridge is not in good shape and damage only for walk of peoples.Jeep rent is 2000-2500 PKR standard rate.
The most exciting and precious thing in Naran to do is Excurtion to Saif-ul-Malook lake specially when glaciers covered the road and only by you can go by hiking on the glacier.

Lake Aansoo ( Tear Drop )

by shadan Written Jan 28, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

'Aansoo' in the local language means 'A Tear Drop'. Its a wonderful lake 14000 ft hight above in the glaciers. It can only be accessed on foot. There is no road wat so ever to take you here. You can try some mules but they wont take you all along either. Its a tough hike so only good hikers should try this one. There are lots of streams n lakes on the way.
