The road to Thandiani

Well, the road takes off from near the Nathia-Gali - Abbottabad road. It goes through pretty bare green hills in the beginning and at one point it gives a great view of the city. Then the climbing begins. Nothing too dangerous but I would advise not to drive yourself if you havent been in these areas before. Several deadly S curves and 180 degree hairpins. The climb is real steep. 2000 metres gained in around 20 km, thats a lot! About 5 km from Thandiani comes a town called Kala Pani (meaning Black Water). The trees on the hills around the route are absolutely beautiful. Just before Thandiani it really begins to get cold and the landscape opens out (a bit) as you reach Thandiani and the road ends as you see the milestone marking Thandiani 0, Abbottabad 24 km.
