The trees here at this motel were of many varieties. We were surprised to find our native Australian Gum trees, and flowering bottlebrushes. Also pine and imported exotics.
Tkae a short stroll from your motel room, and sit and gaze across at this village, and the fields.Particularly nice in the afternoon, as the sun goes down. And it's all lit up at night too, so is very attractive.
In a quiet secluded spot by the Indus river, these women were doing the washing, and bathing the children. And I bet they were having a bit of a gossip!!
Besham is actually in the Swat district, so a trip to the Swat valley would be a must.. The Swat Valley is very picturesque, some of it is like a little Switzerland, and the road winds for many miles by rivers, and heavily wooded pine plantations.
Fondest memory: Sitting by the river with our friends, in the cool evvining, with all that lovely greenery around us. Such a quiet spot, after the hustle and bustle of Peshawar and Mingora. We were out of the main town though.
