Chitral is the birth place of the game of polo.
This is not a richmans game here. It is played by peasents, priests, shopkeepers clerks and all. The people have a passion for the game and are keeping horses at the expense of clothing their children. There are six players aside and the game is played in two halfs of 25 min each. In any tournament there are never less than 30 teams ( 180 horses!!) Polo is played from May to November each year.
