Trip to Pakistan

by imranthetrekker

Salam Hindu Kush, Chitral,I appreciate Besal's recommendations, very informative posts..As far as Skardu is concerned, accessible by road as well as flights but they are subject to weather. It might take some 25 to 27 hrs to Skardu and some 20 hrs to Gilgit..So the best options with family is to try salt mines and Galliate.Ciao,

Around north western Pakistan

by imranthetrekker

Hi from Chitral,Swat is a no go area for you, Chitral is very cold these days and once the roads are blocked because of unpredictable weather conditions in the region, lakes on the high altitude are frozen at this time of the year.So better options are Murree, Galiate or some parts of Kashmir, but beware in winters the landscape is different in the mountainous regions of Pakistan totally opposite to winters.happy travels..Imran SchahTravel photography of mountains of Pakistanhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/imranthetrekker/
