Bargaining for the Price, Nathia Gali

In Nathaiagli you would meet many locals with their horses offering you rides to near by areas and some time on long routes. You would meet many of them on your way to Greens Retreat Hotel. Horse ride on short routes is fun but longer routes you need to be extra careful.

Unique Suggestions: Well its fine to have horse ride if you really know how to handle horse. But you must know something before you plan so. Always first decide about payment like how much you have to pay. They ask for too much money. Make sure, you bargain as much as you can.

They charge too much money for riding on longer routes. Last year during my hiking trips to Nathiagali with my friends, they were after us and asking for Rs.1, 000 (& 17.5 appox) for a ride till Lalazar that I believe is hardly 30 minutes hike.

If you plan horse ride on long routes, then make sure that the place is well known. Actually some of horse-owners give to a lovely picture of some place by their words. You would be informed that after two-hour ride you would be at that place. Make sure that you decide not to go with them on such place alone. Actually they just misguide you and make money. You would not find any thing they were telling you about that specific spot.

Always ask other people first (not to these horse-owner) if any of one have been to that place. I have personally met some tourists in Nathiagali who became victim of this.

Fun Alternatives: Better plan longer trips with other people to make it a group. Do not forget to hire a guide who will be in better position to save you from all this trouble. And if you plan to take a horse ride on your way to Mukhspuri or Miran Jani peaks, make sure that you are not paying them too much money. So its always better to get an idea of "Market rate".
