This is a fascinating valley of Swat in the mighty Korakoram/Hindu Kush range. Some 25-30 km from Kalam (at about 3500+ m asl), this valley offers very uniques landscape. The mighty Swat river is at its full glory here. There you will find lovely lakes (dhamaka lake, kondol lake etc.), majestic walking treks and ....... of course friendly people. Utror and Gibral are two interesting villages in this valley.
I also did part of my field work (for Ph.D) here.

Until the seventies, this Himalayan valley used to be a popular hangout for travelers on the "hippie trail".
Nowadays, all that is left are a couple of (predominantly empty) guesthouses and the hope of the owners that the good old days will return.
Madyan is a great place to relax in gorgeous mountain scenery and a true off-the-beaten-track experience.
