I flew to Faisalabad from Islamabad a few years ago via PIA. The Plane was a prop-driven Fokker, and the flight only lasted about an hour. It's a good option to get quickly to the city, and shouldn't cost more than $50.
However, I don't think PIA flies to Faisalabad from Islamabad anymore. I do know that PIA flies to Faislabad from Multan and Karachi.
Before you get on the plane you will have to go through regular security checks, but these are standard.

Do not come to Fisalabad by any Bus Except Daewoo Bus Service. The other drivers bus driver drive roughly on this route. Even the traffic in the city is extremely bad. I consider faisalabad to have the worst traffic in the country. The government has taken serious measures to oversome this problem but i think it will take another year to solve this major issue of the city.

Faisalabad is easily accessible by bus from numerous cities in Pakistan. I took a bus from Lahore.
The bus system in Pakistan is not like that in the US, there are no large companies like Greyhound, other than Daewoo, and subsequently no real route networks. However buses can be found all over the country going to numerous destinations.
For my trip, there is a large "bus station" in the heart of Lahore from where numerous buses leave. I simply went there and asked about the next bus to Faislabad and was directed to it. The ride was about 3 hours, with a stop at some village on the GT Road.
The ride was rough, and the seat was uncomfortable, but it couldn't have cost me more than $2.

The rickshaws found in most other cities are just as easily found in Faisalabad. They are a good way to travel the city cheaply, although it can be a little scary. But I think it's a great experience that every visitor should experience.

Trip to Faisalabad from Lahore is about 2 hours plus and the schedule is quite frequent. If coming from Rawalpindi, the trip will take 4 hours.
