Clock Tower, Faisalabad

The city of Faisalabad is actually pretty new. It was built in the late 19th century by the British who named it Lyallpur after a British general. The clocktower is where the center of the city tecnically is. It was built to resemble the Union Jack from the top.

Unfortunatly the clock tower is kind of decrepid as the pollution in the city continues to increase. However, the area around the tower consists of many markets where one could get lost easily. It could make an interesting day trip I suppose, if you are the type who likes to wander around.

Faisalabad is known for its textile industry and clock tower. It is also called the city of eight bazars, which emerge from clock tower and designed according to the Union Jack (British Flag)
