Khewra Salt Mines is situated at the distance of 160 km from Islamabad and 260 km from Lahore, and easily accessible from Pindi-Lahore motorway. Through Lila interchange, take the Pind Dadan Khan exit and follow the sign. Khewra is approx. 30 km from this exit. Another route is from the old GT Road, where you exit for Chakwal and keep going straight. This is a more scenic route taking you through various plains and fields of wheat and other crops, and through the heartland of Chakwal/Jehlum

How many men does it take to change one tire?

Once you depart the main freeway between Islamabad and Lahore towards the Salt Mines at Khewra you will need a car with sturdy tires. Some strange geological phenomenon has littered this remarkable Spaghetti Western of a Lollywood landscape with sharp edged rocks. If your vehicles tires are old like ours were you'll be stuck on the side of the road in no time. Fortunately on this stretch of road there is garage handy to do just these sort of repairs cheaply!
