Old Inner City, Lahore

Favorite thing: Lahore was always an important city from hudreds and thousands of years. But it gained its fame especially after the mughals came here. Mughal emporers built a lot of beautiful architectures here. Shah Jehan loved Lahore and he built a beautiful fort here and also fortified the city. In the past, there use to be 12 entrances to the walled city of Lahore. These entrances were known as Derwaza. There were 12 different names for each Derwaza (Gates).

Fondest memory: Walking inside old Lahore is always nice, though its an unorganised messy area of Lahore but to see the old tall houses of 6 or 7 storey buildings and to see their architecture is worth visiting !

Favorite thing: If you have never been to Lahore, and if you are from a developed country, then I would take you first to the inner Lahore city because this is a place which might truely be called "a world of its own." Here you would see narrow streets, dark alleys, old houses, poor people, lots of carts, busy people, starring children, and much more.

Fondest memory: The most that I miss about Lahore is my family, friends and food.
