Stage drama is the hottest entertainment for the last few years in Lahore, and therefore cinemas one after another are being converted into theaters. Drama is more of a mixture of comedy and about four or five dances by famous celebrities; in fact introduction of dances triggered boost in Lahore theater scene, otherwise it was just confined to Alhamra Art Center and open air theater in Lawrence Garden Lahore.
Now it is so popular that on weekends even people come from neighboring cities of Lahore just to watch drama. Despite the fact that tickets are expensive, still people love to go there. Last December when I was back to Lahore, my friend invited me for a dinner and theater. He paid about $25 for seat on the front rows, too expensive but we enjoyed the dances and had good laughter.
