All over the Indian subcontinent, the game of cricket is like a religion.
Gaddafi stadium in Lahore, is the home of Pakistan cricket. It was completely renovated during 1995/96 for the 1996 World Cup, when it hosted the final match.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is also based in the stadium complex.

While I was lucky enough to see the first games played by women in the Lahore Cricket Stadium, it was also exciting to see what is rated one of the best statdiums in the world. I am told Lahore men's team has yet to lose a home game. Best check out the stadium even if you dont' catch a game, it's well worth the trip. Also near by is the field hockey stadium. This is the man who gets the fan's going. He's so popular that he even travels around with the team, "mr. cricket". I promise I'll get you pics of the actual stadium uploaded.

Especially in every major city of Pakistan there are international cricket stadiums such as Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, etc. etc. The Best ones among all of these are the first 3 Lahore, Karachi & Rawalpindi. They have fast and run-scoring cricket pitches where ball also turn and people enjoy the cricket at its best !

Here in Pakistan Cricket is not just a game, it is much more than it. People will watch it even if they have to leave school, college or office if possible ;-) It is as important to us as football is to Europeans.

Cricket Match is regarded as a occasion to have fun and enjoy life ! Lahori's love outdoor activities, it could either be a game of Cricket or any music concerts, if u have not bought tickets in advance then you are one of the unlucky guys to miss the event !

If you know anything about Cricket and you are in Lahore on a Cricket match day then you should definitely go to the stadium to see 'Worlds Fastest Bowler - Shoiab Akhtar' in Action. He is just amazing ! it is very interesting to watch him run so hard to bowl fast and take wickets.

4. There are athletic and other sporting stadium presently being constructed as well which will be complete till the time u will visit Lahore.

5. Kabadi and Wrestling are local games whicha re also being played locally.

People just go crazy when they are watching the game of cricket specialy against arch rival India. You will see a television in every shop & every caffee when the match is on. On Friday & Sunday most of the streets & grounds are full of boys playing Cricket.
