We were there to cover the Champions trophy. A field hockey tournament which pits the top six nations against each other...
The biggest draws of course were the India-Pakistan matches, where huge crowds in innovative-colourful attire, would flood the stadium.
The prevailing currents of goodwill between the two countries showed up here too, with many sepctators carrying banners proclaiming unity and brotherhood. Always nice to see that. And then you hope it stays that way... the politicians on either sides have strange ideas sometimes though...

Hockey...the national sport of Pakistan but with lesser spirit than Cricket is played every where in Pakistan. It depends on the mood of the people as well by that i mean if there is a hockey tournment on television then you will see all the kids with a hokey in their hands walking towards a ground & vise versa for Cricket. Lahore has the World's biggest hockey stadium as well.
Equipment: The best place to buy all Sports gear including hockey is the city of Sports"Sialkot" which is about 70 km from Lahore well worth a visit if you are a sporty person.......

Field Hockey is national sport of Pakistan. The country has won almost all the major hockey tournaments in the world and is considered one of the major forces in the sport. The Lahore Hockey stadium is one of the biggest in the world. Seeing a match if you are around might be a good idea.
