Emperor Jahangir died in 1627AD on his way back from Kashmir to Lahore. According to his wish, he was buried in the spacious garden “Dilkusha” (1538x1538 feet) of his wife queen Noor Jehan at Shahdara on the banks of river Ravi.

Ariel view of Jahangir tomb complex

Another cluster of Mughal monuments in Lahore that should not be missed are the tombs of Jahangir, his wife Nur Jahan and her brother Asif Khan, and the nearby Kamran Baradari on an island in the river Ravi. Take a picnic & half a day for a good visit , you can buy soft drinks & snacks outside the main gate of Jahangir's tomb. These monuments are all on Grand Trunk Road about 5km(3 m) from the centre of Lahore towads Rawalpindi

MAUSOLEUM of EMPEROR JEHANGIR : It has a majestic structure made of red sand stone and marble. An enterance to the right leads one into a beautiful Mongul garden with exact Geometrical patterns balancing each side. The marble tomb is the resting place of the Emperor and is approached from four corridors leading from the garden.
