The drivers in murree are very friendly and show very good gesture before you sit in there taxi/cab etc, but when you finalize the deal with them and continue your travel with them, they don't show you the places they offered you, they try to come back as early as possible so that they could find another customer, in this regard they will not care if you enjoyed or not, if you try to address them they even make a scene of verbal fighting (which should be avoided at any cost if you are with you family) they will gather their fellow drivers and they also try to make you wrong on your point too. Don't make any long time connections with the locals because every time you visit murree there will be more new hotels and more cab/taxi drivers to deal with....so be aware
Unique Suggestions: First of all make all you dealings crystal clear and off course get deal for full day don't ever make a partial day deal for full or half they charge you almost the same. if you ever get in such trouble avoid being angry and get to your hotel asap, if you try to get in some argument then you will definitely loose because this is their territory and they behave rash (which should not be practiced as it is now these days).
Fun Alternatives: try not to be friendly with anyone specially the drivers and hotel staff. stay friendly with your family or your self if you are traveling alone. If you get friendly with these people they will ditch you badly. So be aware of any friendly gesture from the locals of murree, because there are no friends in murree everything means business they will count each minute and convert it into money and they will charge you more then they should. So be very very careful. One more thing don't give your phone number to anyone whose being very friendly to you, because one day they will call you and ask you for lending them money for their trouble, don't lend them because i did and did not get any refunds. yeah that was bad experience.
and last but not the least stay away from a person named Saqib Abbasi he is very tricky driver in murree. He will trap you badly but very friendly.

During snowing, some areas might unable to visit due to tick snow blocking the road. Thus, you might get trap for awhile.
Even after they clean the snow on the road, some areas are still very slippery. So better get a bigger car rather than the small yellow taxi.
Unique Suggestions: 4 wheel vehicles will be the right choice but with higher rate of course.

There are many touts & agents hanging around at the centre of Murree, Mall Road. They will introduce/bring you to some accommodation & let you know the price. However, please check with the owner or receptionist for the actual rate.
If you are foreigner and wish to travel to other areas, better look for a Englsih speaking driver & always negotiate the price & discuss the places you want to visit before make any decision.
The taxi driver usually will charge for the whole day for a destination (Some distant from Murree). Some drivers will first agree on the itinerary you proposed and then change their mind at last & giving excuses. They want to get your business, so they will make any promises, but they might can't fulfill later on.
One more thing, if you hang a bit longer at the destination & reach late at Murree, they will request you to pay more on top of the agreed rate. Please tell them that the rate is for FULL day.
Unique Suggestions: If you are foreigner and want to travel to other areas by renting a car, better look for a English speaking driver. If the taxi driver changes his plan, you can always argue with him.

Although most of the People in Murree and neighbouring hills are nice. You may find some greedy people around you who stick to you and force you for something like horse ride, capturing photos, being guide for some place. Most of them charge you for nothing or over charge. So if interested in something then first decide the rates or what to pay, then proceed.
Guide or Taxi driver recommended by your hotel will be nice. Other than that do not rely any person who claims for this. Again bargain issue arises and secondly these people cheat on you. They will show you a locaiton which physically does not exist. Like K-2 peak in Murree. hahaha.

IF U R GOING MURREE ON TAXI BE AWARE THAT U SHOW DRIVER THAT U KNOW THE PLACE VERY WELL AND TEL HIM ANY EXACT LOCATION YOU KNOW OR WANT TO GO SUCH AS GPO TO LEAVE YOU OTHER WISE HE CAN LEAVE YOU ANY WHERE SURROUNDINGS AND ALSO HE CAN CLAIM ON YOU THAT THIS IS MURREE AND U HAVE SAID ONLY FOR MURREE SO IF U WANT TO GO FURTHER HE WILL CHARGE U , AND OTHER HAND GET ROOM IN A HOTLE WITH BARGAINING AND AFETR CHECKING TWO OR THREE HOTELS RTAES GO TO YOUR DESIRED HOTEL BECAUSE RATES ARE NOT STABLE IT VARIES AS SEASON OFF SEASON AND ON HOLIDAYS AS SATURDAY SUNDAY IT GOES HIGH AS COMPARED TO WEEK DAYS
