On our last visit, the tower was opened for people to climb. I had heard that this had been closed due to the fact that it was old, and the structure was getting weak. However it was our lucky day, and it was open for any one to climb.
Steps are almost 1 feet high, all uneven-spaced, and there are approx. 106 steps.
I had extra load on me as my 4 year daughter also wanted to go to meet someone. So I had to carry her on my back, climbing the winding steps and after several stops, finally reached the top. At this my daughter made a sad face, and looked around....asking...WHERE IS REPUNZZEL??

In the open grounds, surrounding the monument, you can bring your own picnic basket and have a refresshing meal. Beware of lurking crows.
