Ayubia and Nathia Gali: Chicken Sajji

    by babar_1 Updated Sep 14, 2012

Chicken sajji is a famous food in many parts of Pakistan. Whole chicken is barbecued slowly near coals. Light spices are added and you can enjoy with naan. In Quetta (Balochistan), lamb sajji is prepare which is excellent in taste and aroma. Sajji is prepared in many restaurants (in Nathiagali and Ayubia) but very few restaurants are expert in preparing such delicious food.

    A Lahori Treat

    by allyson31mtim Written Nov 12, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Food street is a must-see on anyone's list while visiting Lahore! There are many food stalls and small restaurants to chose from with wide variety of Lahori favorites. The kebabs are always fresh, hot, and very tasty! Just watch out for film crews. Apparently Geo TV was working on a spot about International Food Day, Oct 16, and spotted my red hair in the crowd and interviewed me. Did anyone see it by chance?

Dera Resturant Gadaffi Staduim Lahore: Resturants in Lahore

    by Rumi-fan Updated Oct 25, 2008

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This resturant was on the corner of the food street in Lahore. It's clean and cheap. Easy to get a seat. Food was excellent. The bathrooms were not identified with "male" and "female" sign so there was interesting clashes happening the night I was there. :))

The second resturant - the Kyber Pass in Model Town was a nice experience. I 've never taken dinner in a resturant lying down before. These traditional Punjabi chairs gave cultural atmosphere.

These are very cheap and a good replacement of a light lunch or dinner. It will not cost you more than Pak Ruppee 10/-

Your visit to Islamabad is not complete without trying the local Pakistani barbecue. One of the popular place for this type of food is in F-6 Markaz, called Mr. Food or Munchies. If you drive your car, just pull over in a parking space and the street-waitress from this restaurant will approach you with menu. You can enjoy it on the spot or take away.
Some people may warn you about the hygiene of food vendor. So far, we never have any problem.

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you are in Islamabad and look for something to spice up your appetite, Royal Orchid Thai restaurant in F-6 Markaz could be your option. The restaurant is fairly new, just open in Oct'2006. They serve authentic Thai food with variety of menu from Tom Yam, Mango Salad, Pad Thai, Green curry, Nam Pla, Lemon grass juice, fried banana w/ ice cream etc. Service, food taste and price, everything above average. A serious contender for the other Thai restaurant, Royal Elephant, at Marriot hotel.

Favorite Dish: Chicken in Pandan leaf - authentic taste. Should try for the appetizer, come in 6 pcs.
Green curry - either w/ chicken, beef or shrimp. Warning : very spicy.

This popular restaurant has a massive menu with amazing food. The pizzas come in 5 sizes and the fajitas and and pastas are to die for. Hands down my favorite Italian restaurant ever and that includes 3 trips to Italy.

Food Street: Food Sreet in Gawalmandi

by imranthetrekker Written Mar 18, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Bonjour Mes Amis,

During your visit to Lahore better to stay in the old city, to see the real culture of Lahoris and the vivacity of the walled city.
For dinner I would recommend you to go to Food street ( Gawalmandi) to enjoy the cooking repertoire of the Lahoris and the food culture in Lahore, as Lahore is pretty alive at night.
Besides barbecue you better try the traditional Kashmiri Chai.

I wish you safe and nice travels to Pakistan
