In Karachi, you must try the Barbeque Restaurant which is located in Clifton. You will like each and everything in the menu. Yaammi. If you are planning to go to Northern Pakistan by road, you must stop at Usmania Restaurant in Abbottabad and try their Chinese rice and Chicken Roast. Usmania Restaurant is located on Manshera road right infront of Army Burn Hall College.
I dont have a favorite restaurant, but I have a favorite food, it is phratta, alu phratta, and green tea which you can buy while sitting in your car. You pull up to the market and they bring it to you, kind of like a fast food restaurant in america.
Favorite Dish: alu phratta, green tea
Eating on the roof top is quite magical. You are on the edge of the 'Old City' overlooking Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort. The food is all cooked outside in the 'Old City' and a pulley system brings the food to the top.
The interior of the building is obviously old and with the hum of the narrow alleys that make up the 'Old City' you definitely have a authentic experience. A must if in Lahore, just for the atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: Sag is great, a spinach dish popular with farmworkers - they need to be 'Popeye' working on the Punjabi Plain.
Chicken Boti for your eat meaters, spicy chunks of kebab.
Dal, a delicious lentil dish.

Restaurants and places to eat are plentifull in Pakistan, you can get a array of foods even chinese cuisine.Lahore is famouse for its food you could buy kfc or a macdonald, but thge local stuff is far more tasty if buying at food stalls then stick to bbq meats or veg curries, but in the better restaurants say in the Pearl Continental or other main hotels then you will find the same quality as in any other 5 star hotel.try the local delicacies which vary from region to region.
the price for two for the ful 3 course meals is a bout 300 rps which is expensive at around£3 english pounds but its air con, very clean, clean toilets etc and attentive staff, also the bela bbq in Jhelum is excellent you can sit by the jhelum river in a boat and munch o bbq chicken as you are punted up and down the river.

Food decidedly dodgy in Pakistan until you reach Lahore which is said to be the gormet capital. I had a fantastic steak there, but can't remember the name of the restaurant at present (will add it in later), it was bizzare place done up like a burger bar, with a fountian in the middle frothing bubbles and murals of nursery rhymes on the walls, it was empty inside, and we couldn't work out why waiters dressed as cartoon characters were constantly in and out with food. Once outside, we realised that they were serving people who were eating their steaks in their cars !!! Good food anyway and worth having a steak if you are about to go into India (no beef there).
The nursery rhyme walls, bubbles, dressed up waiters !! surreal !!
Favorite Dish: Steak !
