Al-Habib Restaurant is situated on main Super Highway near Northern bypass at about 30 minutes drive from the city. It is a great experince for locals to go away from the hassle life of city and enjoy a good time with family & friends.
I've been there 2-3 times with friends & office fellas but I've seen several families too. They have indoor as well as outdoor sitting arrangement. Outdoor sitting place is very cool with lush green grass and windy evnironemtn. Mostly people go there for DINNER because in day light it is very Hot outdoor.
As it is away from the city on main highway so don't go on motor bike and do keep spare wheel in the dickie.
Favorite Dish: They offer Mutton Karahi & Chiken Karahi (both white & Brown *), Bar-B-Q & Chicken Shashlic (chinese)
My favourite is Chicken Karahi with routine spices & tomatoes (brown).
* White Karahi is made in Yogurt and brown one is made with Tomatoes

WHEN YOU COME TO THE KARACHI, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD EXPERIENCE TO GO TO THE CITY CENTRE SADDAR. IT IS THE HUB OF KARACHI'S SOCIAL AND ECONOMICAL ACTIVITIES. AT THE ADJACENT OF SARAWAN HOTEL & JUST OPPOSITE OF SKY TOWERS YOU WILL SEE A GORGIOUS FOOD PLACE WHERE THE FRAGRANCE OF FRESH AND CONTINENTAL FOODS EMPHASIS TO STAY HERE. IT IS SITUATED IN THE PRIME LOCATION OF SADDAR AND ALL HISTORICAL PLACES IN KARACHI. SO IT COULD BE A GREAT ATTRACTION TO YOU! KARACHI IS THE PRINCE OF SEA BREEZES THROUGHOUT THE ASIA.
Favorite Dish: CHEESE BURGER: YOU FEEL NOT SO FATTY
CHINESE FRIED RICE: ITS SO LIGHT AND CRUNCHY.

This is probably one of the worst buffet restaurants in the city which is otherwise famous for the excellent food.
My bitter experience of going to Mela was in the month of Ramadhan for Iftaar. The Iftaar items were awful - the Samosas smelled, the so-called orange juice tasted like dirty water and the other items were absolutely stale.
The worst were the waiters, who made me wait at least 5-10 minutes even if I asked for a spoon. There was apparently no training given to those waiters. They didn't even know how to behave.
The ambience was awful, the crowd was mainly from the low-lying areas - who had probably saved money the entire month for the buffet. The food was rotten!
I had to leave that place in a hurry and had to stop at a fast food joint on my way home.
Favorite Dish: Food was really bad and combined with the ambience, it was a terrible chore.

Very interesting place. A 30 minute drive or so from the city, on the Super Highway. It's open air. You can choose to sit on tables and chairs, or get comfy and relax on "charpais" This is a very family oriented restaurant. Kids are always running around without very close supervision. If you want to try many different dishes, get there earlier (around 9PM or so), otherwise they tend to run out of food like mutton or beef. They also have a HUGE drive-in size screen on which they play music videos. Wear comfy clothes, you may have to sit pretzel style on a "charpai" :)
They have an extensive local dishes menu, all barbecue things and karahi dishes, and chinese dishes like fried rice, chow mein, and chilli chicken.
Price is very reasonable, even by Karachi standards. four people can easily eat 2 appetizers, four entrees, drinks, and deserts, all for under 1200 rupees = $20.
Favorite Dish: Umm... favorite dish.. that's tough... I think their chicken handi and tjeir hot and sour soup. The soup had an added kick to it. The handi was simply very flavorful.

Offers outdoors/indoor saeting. Outdoors, away from the bustle of the main city, you get a chance to enjoy a delicious meal under the beauty of the karachi ksy. Has a very EARTHY appeal to it. You have a choice to sit on traditionally Pakistani 'cots' called 'charpayees'. You get a feel of true karachi cuisine..deeeeeeeelicious!!!
Pricing is VERY reasonable.
Atmospehre is very comfortable, all sorts of people come here to eat, from the upperclass, to the lower clas workers and truckdrivers. Everyone comes for the food!
Favorite Dish: Karahi Chicken with Naan
