Best attraction about Village is its location. No other restaurant is located on sea shore in this area. Secondly they have a great variety of dishes including fish, bar-b-q, Indian, Chinese, pizza, deserts, Qulfi & Ice Cream. They do offer seasonal fruits. As I am very fond of sweets so I liked their desert menu.
They do offer Juices which are not included in buffet package.
View of sea shore from the restaurant is magnificent. Restaurant is centrally air conditioned.
I went there three times till date. Once for Lunch, Once for Dinner & Once for Iftar Plus Dinner Buffet in Ramadan.
I enjoyed the food & service both. They do have musicians who play great melodies on flute, which creates a very romantic atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: I liked roasted Quail & Fish.
Other food like Bar B Q, fried rice with Chicken were also good.
Sweet dishes were great.

The quality and taste of the food here has gone down considerably over the past 5 years
When it first opened it was excellent now its far from even mediocre
Its also now overpriced
There are better places to have local cuisine than this restaurant

It was hard to choose the category from VT's list of food type. I'd say it's a mix of BBQ, desi (local Pakistani), food with options of localised chinese and western pastas and italian pizzas plus more. There was a healthy salad and Fruit bar, an entire counter for deserts, an entire counter for chat pattis (snacks), another counter for differetn types of chappatis! and the list goes on... and on.
Favorite Dish: i really liked the seekh kebabs and the falooda
i also liked the dhai puri.

You can have a taste of all Pakistani dishes under one roof. Offering BBQ, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, various sweet dishes, season fruits, local drinks like lassi, cane juice, etc., will satisfy any visitor. It is totally buffet, so you can really pig-out to any dish you want. Some will just eat BBQ, others may try vegetarian, rest combination of all.
Reservations are in advance if you want to get a good seat, else you can show up and get what ever seats are available. To enjoy get seats next to the window so you can also enjoy the sea side.
open for Lunch, Hi-Tea, dinner. Hi-tea is basically cake and pastry, served with samossas, pakoras, small nick-nacks, sandwitches.
Timings:
Lunch: 1200-1500
Hi-Tea: 1600-1800
Dinner: 2000-2400
Prices also vary:
Lunch: Rs 400/head
Hi Tea: Rs 200/head
Dinner: Rs 525/head

**There was a fire in Oct/Nov 2005 timeframe and the restaurant is currently closed.** (Before that, food was great.) A good alternative to The Village is "Lal Qila" -- great buffet and bbq items there!

The most important thing to note about the name of this restaurant is that there are three restaurants in Karachi with similar names. The one which stands out because of quality of service, variety of food and excellence of ambience is of course the Salt n Pepper Village located on the seaside.
Foreigners often mistake two other restaurants with this one. There's a restaurant called 'The Village' which is near the Metropole Hotel right opposite Avari Plaza. Caution: Everything there is awful.
There is another restaurant in the Clifton area, near Schon Circle, called Salt N Pepper, which is OK food, but not near the quality and variety of the food they have at the original Salt n Pepper Village.
Almost all locals living in the Clifton area are aware of all three, so make sure you land up in the correct Salt n Pepper Village restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Prawn Balls, Sarso Ka Saag are my favorites, along with the huge variety of dessert there. Other items such as Biryani, Haleem, Paey are also excellent.
