If you are in Karachi and if its a Sunday then head for Sunday Bazaar in Defence phase VII near Village Restaurant.. You find everything here, antiques, books, music CDs, DVDs, local crafts, jewelry, toys etc. Almost everything and in amazingly cheap prices....
What to buy: Everything if you can....
The Forum is another shopping centre located nearer to the centre of town. Not as upscale as Pak Towers, but some interesting shops selling perfumes, cheap CD/DVDs and lots of fabrics.
What to buy: Bought some materials for ladies called "Lawn". You can buy a set for USD 10 which would be enough to tailor into a proper Pakistani dress with shawl.
The "Lawn" is a light fabric and very popular with ladies during the summer months.
What to pay: USD 10 - 20 for a set.
Shopping could be very cheap in Karachi but you have to know how to haggle big time. there are few shopping areas where you could buy traditional stuff like, copper's, Brass onyx, inlaid woodwork, lacquer work, hand block printed. Pakistani hand made rugs are also very descent. But don’t forget again the golden rule………. Never pay the asking price.
Small exclusive boutiques and shops catering to the needs of special people who wants to wear labels.
What to buy: Clothes & Shoes, and some other nick/nacks!
What to pay: Whatever they ask..they are exclusive and special.
