Peshawari ice cream

Peshawari Ice Cream parlour is the oldest ice cream shop in Karachi, working since 1948. They have started with a small shop on main preddy street, but now acquired a large shop with family room facility nearby.

Their speciality is PESHAWARI ICE CREAM (vanilla flavour). All major flavours are available. Good quality Ice cream is available at cheap rates.

They do not have any outlet or branch in Karachi but their ice cream is so popular that all other ice cream shops have named their Vanilla Flavour as PESHAWARI ICE CREAM.

Baloch Ice Cream located in Saddar, Bohri Bazar, is also a famous ice cream shop. Baloch has an outlet at Boat Bason, Clifton. Rajoo Ice Cream shop at Boat Bason Clifton also makes good quality Ice Cream.

Empress Market, Saddar Karachi

Saddar is in downtown Karachi and is home to countless big and small markets dealing from everyday household items to electronics where Empress Market is worth visiting.

Built in Indo-Gothic style, it was named after the Empress Victoria. This fine building consists of four galleries, an atrium and a grand clock tower which is 140 feet high.
Prior to its construction, the location of the Empress Market served as an execution site for the British, and it was not until March 21st 1889, that it opened as a market to the Public. Empress Market is not just a market – it is a symbol of Karachi’s glory from the days of the British rule.

It is situated in "Saddar" area which means "heart of the city". It is a great market. You can buy every thing from meat to vegetables, spices to dry fruits and fresh fruits from here.

Market has several sub markets where you can buy specific items. Like:

1. Dry Fruit Market: Where all type of dry fruits including different type of Almonds, Cardamom, Walnuts & different types of Dates are available throughout the year.

2. Birds & Pets Market: All kind of pet Animals specially Birds like Parrots, pigeons etc. are available.

3. Meat Market: Number of Large shops of Mutton, beef & chicken are present in Empress Market.

4. Fruit & Vegetable Market: All kind of seasonal / off seasonal fruits & vegetables can be purchased from here.

5. Groceries Items: All Groceries can be bought here.

The good thing about shopping at the Empress market is that you can get great bargains.

This place, Empress Market, should also be put in Shopping Category. Because Empress Market is famous for its Architecture as well as it is a great Shopping place.

Built by the British to commemorate the Silver Jubille of Queen Victoria's reign, this historic market is designed in the domestic Gothic style. From its centre rises a tall clock tower. The market contains shops that sell meat fish, poultry, vegetbles and other groceries. For souvenirs of brassware carved silverware, gold and silver jewllery, embroidy, Delicate mirror-work of Sindh, handloom, tapestris, printed fabrics. lacquer-ware, camel skin articles and carved wood-work, tourists are advised to visit the All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA) shop on Abdullah Haroon Road and the P.I.D.C.Cottage Industries show room where prices are fixed and quality ensured. There are a number of other shops in all main markets of city.

This huge, bustling Pakistani market is located in Saddar. It is essentially a food
market and sells all manner of products from fruit and vegetables to fish, poultry
and red meat as well as canned/tinned goods, housewares and spices. Shopping
there is a real experience although, as the market is very large, it can be a little
intimidating. i suggest that you make your first visit with a friend who shops
there regularly.
