Visit to Lakes in Sindh and Cape Monz light house

by Aghani Written Feb 16, 2009

Cape Monz is in Balochistan. It was an unspoilt beach having a wonderful light house directing ships to Karachi. When I visited it about 52 years back as a student of Karachi University it was breathtaking, sunny, very high winds. We even climbed to the top of dome holding the shaft of weather cock in high winds.
There are two lakes between Karachi and Thatta. One is Haleji. Good for anglers, bird watchers, duck hunting ( Siberian ducks in winter). It has large population of wild crockdiles. Worth a day's. About 55 liles from Karachi.
There's another lake at 65 miles called Kalri or Khinjer. Its fed by Indus water from Hyderabad. It is one of the main source of water for Karachi.
Kalri lake has many tourist rest houses, pleasure boats, fishing etc. One of little known fact is that it has a little island in middle which have tombs of legendary Love folk-saga of Prince Jam Tamachi and a commoner Noori.
    Explore and have fun.
