    Karachi Things to Do

Quaid-e-Azam`s Mausoleum is a prominent and impressive landmark of Karachi. Designed by Architect Yahya Merchant, this white marble Mausoleum with its curved arches and copper grills was completed in 1970. Its cool interior reflects the green of a four-tiered crystal chandelier gifted by the peoples Republic of China. There is a large park...

Best attraction about Village is its location. No other restaurant is located on sea shore in this area. Secondly they have a great variety of dishes including fish, bar-b-q, Indian, Chinese, pizza, deserts, Qulfi & Ice Cream. They do offer seasonal fruits. As I am very fond of sweets so I liked their desert menu. They do offer Juices which are...

    Nagar Parkar Transportation

Karachi to Nagarparkar is a serious undertaking; around 500km, which translates into 10 hours of almost continuous driving. Crossing through Thar Desert, the drive can easily be prolonged if one fails to avoid enroute stops, which at times become enchantingly inevitable as there are many difficult to miss sights on the way.So ultimately we did that...

Before departing for this trip I tried to find out a public transport direct from Karachi to Nagarparkar but for no avail. While strolling around Nagarparkar, I saw this bus - which was the only bus I saw there - which was reportedly going to Naukot. From Naukot, one can find another transport to go beyond. The guy was interested in me as there were...

While going to Nagarparkar, we stopped at this place for tea and chapati; both were good especially tea which was comparable to Karachi's 'karak' tea available on Quetta shops. On the way back, we once again stopped there and this time for the dinner; food was fresh, delicious, and of good quality. Highly recommended. They are expert in veggie...

    Khipro Off The Beaten Path

When the lake dies, fresh water supply finishes, the lake starts to produce salt. We visited this one lake where the government has allowed mining (being done for the past 40 years). There are several where this depletion is not allowed. The workers were pouring salt from the water in a wheel barrow with holes, and dumping on the sides. Trucks then...

    Khipro Off The Beaten Path

While traveling around the villages, there were various canals supplying water to the farmland. In addition to the canals, there were several small lakes - some fresh water and several salt water lakes. Tombs and more tombs...

Notice that the intricate patterns carved on the sandstone tombs.

The more elaborate tombs belong to those of the upper class or of royalty while the unmarked, piles of stones belong to the commoner.

The opening picture is the central tomb, one of the largest in the complex.
