Islamabad
Pakistan's young capital Islamabad mainly consists of public buildings and residential areas for well-to-do Pakistanis, but the city has a nice location at the foot of a mountain chain.
There's one truly impressive sight, the gigantic modern Faisal Mosque, dramatically built below the mountains.
Also worthwhile is the trip to Daman-i-koh, a viewpoint and café offering great vistas on Islamabad and the mosque.

Peshawar: Balahisar Fort - Peshawar
Balahisar Fort - Peshawar - Pakistan
Balahisar Fort - Peshawar

Peshawar was enclosed within a city wall and sixteen gates until the mid 50s, while on both the eastern and western approaches to the city there is the mighty Balahisar Fort.
This fort meets the eye when coming from Rawalpindi, or from the Khyber. It is a massive, frowning structure as its name implies, and the newcomer passing under the shadow of its huge battlements and ramparts cannot fail to be impressed. It was originally built by Babur, the first of the Mughals, in 1526-30, then was rebuilt in its present form by the Sikh Governor of Peshawar, Hari Singh Nalva, in the 1830's under the guidance of French engineers. Presently it houses the government offices.

Pir Ghaib,70 kms from Quetta, on Sibi Road, where hot water pours out of a natural limestone spout in the cliff face into a chain of turquoise pools surrounded by palm trees.A bath in the pools is tempting. To get here you need a 4 Wheel Drive or Simply hire a jeep.
