I really enjoyed the character of Lahore old city. The back alley feeling roads watching the daily going abouts of people in this city which makes it so special. I also enjoyed going through the markets which sell all kinds of things - giving an insight into what the average Pakistani might use or eat in everyday life. I will definately return to Pakistan in the future as it holds a special place in my heart! I really feel nostalgic for having some KULCHA bread or some CHAT at the Chat restaurants- a kind of spicy savoury snack! |

These gardens are very nicely kept and are well situated to take in a wonderful view of Islamabad. It was refreshing to see some order in the designed gardens. Its well worth the visit there. One garden has planted a tree for each president of prime minister who has visited Islamabad. |

Nathia Gali can be a week-end getaway for those who live in Islamabad area. It's about two hrs drive to Muree direction. You can either have a one day round trip or spend one night in Nathia Gali. Visit to Nathia Gali is not complete without hiking some of the trail surrounding the area. The easy one like "pipeline track" or a rather sweaty one hiking the Mukhpury hill. |

One of the main activities of the locals is the cultivation of abricots. So that is why all the roofs in this neighborhood are coloured orange, because of the abricots who are drying in the sun. Maybe a good idea for a gift, a portion of dried abricots. But be careful when you make such a picture, as it is kind of prohibited to make pictures of the local ladies in this region, and the drying of the abricots is their duty . . . . |

When you stand on the terrace of the Baltit Fort in Karimabad, it is almost impossible to stop looking around to those magnificent high mountains. But stop looking up, you must also look down, because from the terrace of the Baltit Fort you also have a splendid bird's eye view on the houses of the village Karimabad. What a great view, you should not miss that. |

Pakistanis have two passions - cricket and kite flying .. and all through the year people get on their roof tops and fly kites. It is just not simple flying - but you have dog fights (paichay) and make so many maneuvers. Special kites are made to order, the strings are made using special threads and special formula of the coating. It is a billion rupee business and esepcially during spring it becomes a passion. People bet millions on kite fights - and sometimes fights break out resulting in murders. |
