El Portro Restobar: Most Popular Nite Spot in Balibago Area

Urban Hub Sports Bar & Restaurant: One of the Nite Spots in Balibago Area

by machomikemd Updated Jul 5, 2014

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

first of all, this place is more on the decent side but there are many single ladies out here where you can hook up or rather pick up, but this area, although near the Infamous Walking Street and Fields Avenue is a decent place as there are no Go Go Girls Pole Dancing here!

This Sports Bar is typical of sports bars anywhere with many TV screens showing various sports activities but mainly basketball as this is the philippines, which is a basketball crazy nation after all. they also have a live band performing nightly starting at 9:00 pm and severl pool tables outside the main bar.

Beers are mostly local but they have a large selections of cocktails and bar chow and beers cost 65 pesos a bottle (San Miguel) and cocktails at 130 pesos and up.

opens: 11:00 am to 2:00 am everyday

SWAGMAN: GREAT FOOD and SPORTS BAR

by davidjo Written Jul 22, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Swagman has been well established in the country for years and it is mostly a hang-out for Australians but it is well worth going to for their delicious food or to watch a rugby match or other sports. It is also a hotel and has a decent swimming pool. They have a bus that goes to Manila or Olongapo but it is a little expensive. We went there with an Aussie friend to watch a football match, drink a few beers and enjoy a meal. The meals were excellent and my wife enjoyed her Tomyum soup (and that was very complimentary as we usually cook it ourselves each week). My burger was satisfactory and my friend seafood dish was excellent. Beer is a reasonable price considering it is Angeles ( a bucket of 7 S Mig Lights cost 350, but 60 pesos each if ordered individually).
There were many TV screens so wherever you sat you could view the game.

Sunlounger Island Cafe: Sunlounging at an island bar in the city

    by d00tchy Written Sep 9, 2011

Sunlounger Island Cafe is a new cafe/bar growing in popularity among the locals and tourists. They serve great espresso/cappuccino and sandwiches during the daytime and nighttime is a great hangout for enjoying a few beers and local favorite Sunlounger Sisig (a sizzling dish)

The music is good, the people are fun, and the multitude of TVs keep the crowds entertained.

If you're in the area of Angeles City, you should definitely visit Sunlounger Island Cafe, located near Angeles University Foundation (AUF) on MacArthur Highway, just before Balibago.

  • Fields Ave: Angeles city

    by Pattaya1 Written Jun 20, 2009

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

My advice save yourself some time and money and go to Pattaya. I'm 5 days into what i'd planned to be a month trip to the Philippines and i've just changed my ticket to fly back to Thailand tomorrow. In my opinion this place has nothing to compare with Thailand when it comes to naughty nightlife, the women are far less attractive, the people in general are pushy and rude and it's difficult to relax in any of the bars due to constant pressure to buy drinks for the staff.
During the day there is nothing to do in Angeles if you do leave the hotel prepare to be hastled by beggars lots and lots of them as well as alot of people trying to sell you stuff mainly usless stuff.
In summary if your attracted to short fat pug ugly women and don't mind spending the days in abject bordom and like to be hastled constantly by short, rude, inbred scumbags then Angeles is for you'd rather have fun go to Pattaya.

R & B Music Venue: The best live band in Angeles

by kenningst Updated Nov 13, 2007

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This live band is off the main bar area and thus is not frequented with tourist. It is almost 100% local. Its pretty far so I suggest you take a jeepney down there.

Take note that there is no cover charge but then a minimum order of P200 per person on the first order is required from Friday till Sunday and P150 from Monday till Thursday. Also, no shorts or slippers are allowed.

    Nightlife: Ah Go-Go bars

by kenningst Updated Nov 13, 2007

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Take a look at this place and places like Bangla road, Phuket, Thailand (take off patong beach), Dannok, Thailand and Pattaya, Thailand comes as a flash back. Fields Avenue transforms its self into one big party place filled with Ah Go-go bars at night. I think there is something like 100 Ah Go-go bars in this place. Will take a while if you want to visit all of them.

The price of a beer here is P85 compared P20 if you buy them at 7-11. A bit pricy compared to the local price but then its still dirt cheap.

Balibago, Angeles City: Night as full as day

by Yla Written Oct 1, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Balibago area is a district of all nighttime establishments. It's actually long the historic McArthur Highway and en route to downtown Angeles City. Resto-bars, coffee shops, restaurants of international cuisines, steak and grill restaurants, hotels and stores, videoke bars lined the district and surrounding streets.

    Cambodia Club: Go Go Bar

    by Travel2write Updated Jun 18, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The following travel tip is for single men. I would not recommend these establishments for wives or girlfriend. Maybe a bachelor party at best!

Upscale compared to most of the other clubs in Angeles, the buisness must be improving.

Cleaner and more modern, reminds me of the GO GO bar in thailand!
